Councillor Chris Marriott has been a dedicated member of the Armthorpe community for 58 years, and since May 2025, he has tirelessly worked as your Ward Councillor to make it a better place for everyone. As part of my commitment to community service, I want to share my Year-End Review for the Armthorpe Ward for 2025/26.
What a year it’s been! From knocking on doors during the local elections to now serving you as one of your three Ward Councillors, I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who placed their trust in me this past May.
Since the election, Cllr Tim Needham, Cllr Nick Pritchard, and I have been working diligently together, alongside the brilliant Armthorpe Parish Council, to deliver for the people of our great village. We are proud to be part of this community and its continued growth.
Of course, there have been a few frustrations along the way, but the positives have far outweighed them. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to pop onto the Armthorpe Parish Council website or Facebook page to see everything that’s been happening. This year’s events have been bigger and better than ever, thanks to the fantastic community support and spirit we share.
A special thank you to the Parish Council Chair and all the Parish Councillors for their hard work, week in and week out. I want to reassure everyone that when you contact any of us—your Ward or Parish Councillors—with an issue, we deal with it straight away. Sometimes things take a little time because they involve other agencies (highways, planning, housing, etc.), but rest assured we are constantly chasing them on your behalf. This is all part of our commitment to the Armthorpe community and ensuring that your voices are heard.
Finally, I’m looking forward to continuing the work we’ve started in 2025 through 2026 and beyond, including initiatives at the Maple Grove Communal Hall and other community spaces.
Best wishes,
Cllr Chris Marriott
